A Poem

Arctic wildlife of Norway, the candy
Aurora Borealis in the form of tiny circular orbs,
The cold white sugar snow, frosted
Between the walls and door — the home, buried
Shut in avalanche, the Norway rock
And bricks, which has formed
And was sculpted into a sweet
Chocolate-coated roof, black as soil
The white swirl from
The blizzard surrounding the
Paid artist who designed everything with
Hearts, reindeer, Christmas trees,
Door drop ornaments, the circle
Tree, as binding as a wedding
Ring that cannot fit on stick fingers of
Snowmen and the melting hands
That were placed
The oven malfunctions, the radiating
Heat set to 450 degrees as fast as a strike of lightning
A tsunami of milk vaporized the flames around
The char of bread, the spots
Surrounding the home
Like smudged polka dots, piece
By piece the demolition
Process occurs, Santa and his
Reindeer consume the unburnt,
And the Gingerbread Man returns home
The Gingerbread Man digs a hole
With his candy cane,
Like he was using a shovel, right
Underneath the chimney, where
Santa came down, and buried
Him and wore his clothes and took
Pieces of the destroyed
House, and goes to the homes, and
The reindeer — Dasher
And Prancer — as they were too full
To care about eating the
Gingerbread Man
They follow his lead and deliver the
Presents next to the Christmas
Trees, and switch the
Neighborhood’s chocolate chip
Cookies to gingerbread pieces.
