How Many Friends Do Women Have?

Here are the survey results. Are friends necessary for our happiness? You may be surprised by what I found out.

I knew a woman who called everyone her friend, and it irritated me. If she’d meet someone within five minutes, they were “her friend.” She’d walk into the Ladies Room and come out having a friend. It seemed creepy.

Most people aren’t like this delusional lady, but we all use the word “friend” loosely. It’s nice to be socially accepted and do things with people but are these real friends or acquaintances?

This question rarely comes up in conversations. It’s kind of personal, and it could turn people off by asking it.

I posted a “Friendship Survey” on several different social media outlets for the past month. Answering a survey takes the awkwardness out of posing the question. I was able to get some answers to satisfy my curiosity.

I found out that women have:

· No friends 4%

· 1–3 friends 26%,

· 4–6 friends 44%

· 6–10 friends 26%

The quality that was important next to trust and dependability was:

· Sense of humor 28%

· Common Interest 60%

· Religious Belief 2%

· Fun-loving 4%

· Intellect 2%

· Not applicable 4%

How important was it to make new friends?

· Very important 4%

· Somewhat important 58%

· Not important 38%

On a scale of one to ten- ten being the best- how did they rate themselves as a friend?

· Under 7 4%

· 7 to 8 12%

· 8 to 9 52%

· Over 9 32%

So, my survey’s conclusion is:

· the average woman has 4–6 true friends.

· Besides trust and dependability, having a common interest is important

· They rate themselves as an 8.5 out of 10 as far as what kind of friend they are.
