Unity in the Unity3D community

The comm-Unity of developers using Unity is wide, varied and resourceful. They are a great resource that most novice developers don’t take full advantage of. They create many useful tutorials and will answer your questions on the Unity forums and stack overflow.

The Unity community will answer any question you have with your game. They have a very diverse community with people from many different backgrounds that are willing to offer help on any platform you’re developing for, from simulations to the Hololens.

They’ve got many open minded people providing assistance in many forms of online mediums. They put free assets up on the assets store for aspiring developers. They make YouTube videos, write blogs, and answer questions.

Probably the biggest reasons for the Unity communities success is because of the Unity company itself. When someone creates something that is very good and useful for many applications the Unity company will purchase the rights to it and release it for free for the community to use. This selflessness is big part of what makes the community prosper. It sets a precedent for what the community should do and reinforces the sense of companionship.

During my adventures in creating my own projects I’ve frequently had problems with niche issues that I assumed almost no one else would have. Every time I’ve either been able to find someone else with my issue or I’ve asked the people on the forums and received a response within a few hours with a good well though of solution.

Not only do the forums allow for people to ask questions, They also have an area dedicated to showcasing things people have made using unity. This gives users a sense for what the software can do while allowing people to ask the developers questions and learn about amazing new games and open source projects that they would not have otherwise had access to.

Other popular sites also allow you to ask questions about Unity. Stack overflow is a great resource to ask questions related to your code in Unity and any code in general. Stack Overflow requires you to sign up in order to start posting and taking part in discussions.

Ultimately the community is a driving force for any successful product and Unity is no exception. There are hundreds of websites offering support for Unity developers and bringing people closer to developing the game they’ve always dreamed of. A community of outgoing and caring people is often what decides if a program will survive because being able to ask questions and find others with similar problems can often bring forth a solution. With a community software's and programming languages disappear.
