Is boredom your friend or enemy?

Day 7: Anybody bored?

They want your attention. They all do. Not because of what you can give them specifically, but because it changes you, and you might not realize it. The noise is everywhere, in technology, social media, entertainment. It craves for your attention.

Even still, we seem to utter the words “I am bored” with such dissatisfaction. Why are we bored?

I stumbled upon this quote on boredom, given the circumstances I thought to share it.

“We are less bored than our ancestors were, but we are more afraid of boredom.” — Bertrand Russell (British philosopher, logician, mathematician, historian, writer…basically everything.)

So which is it? I guess both. Boredom can either be our enemy or our friend. So next time you are bored, choose to be friends with boredom. Who knows, maybe it will be a window to your next great idea.

Bye, dreamer.
